A fundamental of this farm is the use of organic fertilizers. The shell of Takezaki Crab, a local specialty of Tara, is rich in chitosan and is mixed into the compost. By feeding asparagus chitosan, immunity is increased and cells are activated! This fills the asparagus with vitality and makes it possible to reduce pesticides and fertilizers. Growth also becomes healthy and quality is greatly improved. Takezaki Crab helps a lot when it comes to the deliciousness in "Forest Asparagus".
Since ancient times, asparagus - which is amazingly packed full of nutrients - has been said to also have diuretic and stomach strengthening effects. It contains nutrients such as vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin C, vitamin E, folic acid, asparagine, arginine & rutin - folic acid, rutin and arginine are especially effective when it comes to preventing anemia, vasodilation and arteriosclerosis. The asparagus is a vegetable with a very strong life force.

[Producer's comment] A-noker
The farm's name is A-noker, pronounced as "ei-noh-ka" in Japanese. The "A" stands for "agriculture", "asparagus" and "Ando" (the name of the farm's representative). "A" is also the first letter in the alphabet, which represents being the first and being at the top, an idea that we have committed to in terms of our asparagus production.
Mt. Tara is among the "100 Best Forests for Water Sources" in Japan chosen by the Forestry Agency. The clear water from the Tara Mountains is used to grow "Forest's Asparagus". The forest on the mountainside is perfect for asparagus cultivation as it is not overly hot in summer, has good wind exposure and its temperature remains constant. Thanks to these conditions, our asparagus do not become easily diseased or rotten. With safety and security at the fore, it is possible to grow asparagus with the minimum amount of pesticides here. Asparagus that have absorbed lots of water from the Tara Mountains are filled with energy and grow steadily as they soak up the sunlight.
